Cinema.Magic

The pre- and early history of film is shown in the Metro Kino in two cinema halls and three exhibition rooms on four levels and a total area of 1,800 square meters.

Ancient shadow games and the first image machines, which are also known as Camera obscura, are on display. Furthermore, the aerial apparatus of the 19th century and the invention of the film can also be seen, and the absolute highlight of the exhibition is the reconstructed Kaiserpanorama from Wels. Back then, the cineasts all sat around the wooden “look box” through which they saw the world by a series of photos that were colored by hand.
